At the lunch, Sophie Bray, one of the Step into the Gap volunteers from The Briars, gave a presentation about her recent visit to Ethiopia

Sophie introduced a number of the people she met there and showed some of the improvements that had been made to the living and working conditions, thanks to the generosity of CAFOD supporters.

After the presentation, parishioners enjoyed a lunch of a choice of home-made soups and desserts with friends.

Many parishioners came bearing their CAFOD pyramid savings boxes and ‘pocket money’ – loose change found in their pockets!

The total raised was an amazing £751, the best ever total Our Lady of Good Counsel parish has ever received.

Thanks to Sophie and The Briars team, as well as to all who helped in the kitchen, by attending or by giving.
