Happy New Year from CAFOD Nottingham!
With Easter being early this year Lent and Lent Fast Day will soon be upon us. Louise and I, with the support of CAFOD volunteers, have been busy organising some events around the Diocese and attach two documents below giving details of when and where.
This year’s Lenten appeal will once again focus on the live saving gift of water. So we’re asking people to think about the fact that clean drinking water, proper toilets and good hygiene are essential, yet millions of people don’t have access to these basic services. We want to ask YOU to ‘turn on the taps’ and get support going for those who have to do without water BUT that we can help if we are supported. By attending one of our events you will learn about Proscovia in Uganda and hear her story.
We are delighted to welcome Laureta Madegwa from CAFOD Nairobi who will be attending the event on 30th January at the McGuinness Centre in Nottingham. At other events we will welcome Jason and Bea, our CAFOD Step into the Gap young people who will have returned from visiting our partners in Zimbabwe and Peru.
So please take a look and see if there is an event you can attend , and. even better, bring along a friend!
If we haven’t managed to get to where you live, we plan to do this either after Easter or for Harvest Fast Day!
