Pupils at St Thomas More Primary, Leicester raised £500 for CAFOD’s Harvest Fast Day Appeal by inviting parents and parishioners to come and join in with their Harvest Fastival and then buy the food which made up the Harvest display.

The day started with a Harvest Liturgy, led by the children, and it was followed by a range of Harvest inspired activities throughout the day. All of the school community got involved learning about why we have our Harvest Festival and why it is important to share what we have.

At the end of the day, some of Year 6 students, helped by the PTA, organised the sale of the massive array of food and produce which had been donated for the Harvest display.

Thanks to all those involved, especially Year 5 who wrote prayers and poems and year 6 who made posters and Dan McGlynn, the Chaplain.
