Silly socks!

Who has got the silliest socks?

Who has got the silliest socks?

Silly socks were the order of the day when the community of Christ the King Catholic Primary School in Alfreton took part in CAFOD’s ‘Big Silly Share’.

Staff and pupils wanted to highlight some of the silly ways in which food is grown and shared in our world. Did you know that in the UK, the food and drink that we throw in the bin at home weighs more than 200,000 full double-decker buses? Or that half of the people in the world who go hungry are
actually farmers? Although there is enough food in our world for everyone, right now one in eight people are still hungry. This just bdoesn’t make sense. It’s silly!

Donations for the opportunity of having some super, sock fun have raised £270 so far. A big thank you to all who took part!
