If you’re thinking about joining connect2: or you just want to know more about it – have a look at this super new film!
For those you who may not have heard of Connect2, it’s an opportunity for your community, parish or school, to hear directly from people in developing countries who are working hard, often against the odds, to improve their lives.
There are four countries to choose from including El Salvador, Brazil, Cambodia and Ethiopia. Once you have signed up, you’ll receive stories and photographs from a community in your chosen country and over the new few years local people will share their hopes, dreams, struggles and challenges with you through regular updates.
In return, you can support the community by praying, raising money and sharing news from your parish through photographs, cards and messages of solidarity.
The money raised will support our work in your partner community and in other communities like it in the same country.
As one CAFOD volunteer (Linda Swarbrick from St Mary’s parish in Preston) said:
“I’d say to any parish thinking about Connect2 – ‘give it a try!’ We’ve held coffee mornings and raffles that have also brought our parish together. We’re two communities working and praying together.”
For more information – do get in touch with us here at CAFOD Nottingham on firstname.lastname@example.org or 01773 852950. We can send you an introductory leaflet which gives you an overview of all four communities. You can also register online here.
